Girl Skate Mag Issue #2: Exploring the South West Skate Scene

By Girl Skate Mag

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the second issue of Girl Skate Mag, your go-to skate magazine for celebrating skate culture and the people who make it thrive. This issue turns its focus to the South West of England, from the vibrant Bristol skate spots to the scenic Cornwall skate spots along the coast. It’s a love letter to the energy, creativity, and inclusive community that defines skating in this region.

I spent time exploring different corners of the South West skate scene, meeting skaters who shape these places in their own unique ways. While we couldn’t cover every spot, the aim was to capture the feeling of skating in the South West, offering inspiration for both new skaters and seasoned.

Highlights of this issue include:
Skate spots in Mount Hawke, Truro, Falmouth, Newquay and Shrednehams, also features on Blackmass, Dean Lane, Campus Pool and other iconic UK skate spots. Coverage of the Skate and Surf Expo including interviews from The Board Mums Club, Alice in Rollerland and Beth Howells. Our Girl Skate Mag Meet, bringing together creativity, community, and shredding

This issue was built through collaboration, shared stories, and a shared love of skating. Huge thanks to our contributors Daisy Yeandle, Hazel Whitehouse, Claire Hancox, Suz Hill, India Leask, Samantha Bache, Keren Cooksey, Sheree Wall, and Jessica May. Their voices bring this issue to life.

Every sale of Girl Skate Mag goes straight back into the magazine, funding future issues, collaborations, and supporting the growth of safe and inclusive skate spaces across the UK. By picking up this issue, you’re not just reading about skating you’re supporting the growth of UK skate culture and community.

Issue #2 is also the perfect skate gift for anyone this season whether it’s Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or a treat for yourself or your bestie for Galentine’s Day. Celebrate your love of skating and the vibrant South West skate scene with a magazine made with heart.

Whether you’re exploring Bristol’s city skate spots or riding Cornwall’s coastal ramps, Issue #2 is your guide to the South West’s skate culture and skate spots. Grab your copy of Girl Skate Mag here.
